Wilmington Marathon Additional Details:

Wilmington runs a tight ship, with ten aid stations spread across the course stocked with water, Gatorade, and HUMA gels, so full marathoners pass through several of them twice on the out-and-back sections. Volunteers keep the stations well stocked deep into the race, and the finish chute delivers water and a banana immediately, followed by treats from Harris Teeter and Nothing Bundt Cakes. Beyond the chute, an athlete zone offers beer and food for finishers to unwind riverside. The finisher medal itself is a local touch, featuring the shape of North Carolina alongside Wilmington landmarks, and the riverfront finish draws enthusiastic crowds that give the race a hometown, celebratory feel rare for a winter marathon.
