Coastal Delaware Running Festival Marathon Description

The Coastal Delaware Running Festival Marathon starts and finishes on the iconic Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk each spring, looping runners through quiet coastal neighborhoods, Gordons Pond Wildlife Area, Cape Henlopen State Park, and historic Lewes before returning via the Junction & Breakwater Trail. The mostly flat, Boston-qualifying course takes in some of coastal Delaware’s most scenic landmarks with minimal elevation change throughout. Pace groups help runners dial in a goal time, and the boardwalk finish makes for a memorable, beach-town celebration after 26.2 miles well earned.

Always check the official race website for the most accurate and up-to-date race information and logistics.

Coastal Delaware Running Festival Marathon Additional Details:

The after-party here might outshine the race itself: local favorite Grotto Pizza hosts finishers with an endless buffet, beer included, a boardwalk tradition that regulars talk about as much as the course. The free Finish Line Celebration adds live entertainment and its own food and beer on top of that, so there’s really two parties waiting at the end of 26.2 miles. Every entry also supports the Delaware Seashore Preservation Foundation and other local conservation efforts, tying the race directly to the coastline it runs through. Since the full loop touches Gordons Pond Wildlife Area and Cape Henlopen’s historic Fort Miles before finishing back on the boardwalk, runners get a genuine tour of the Delaware shore’s protected lands, not just its beach towns.
