MO’ Cowbell Marathon Description

The MO’ Cowbell Marathon is a mostly flat, Boston qualifying race through St. Charles, Missouri, along the Missouri River. The mostly loop course tours the city’s historic Main Street district and riverfront, offering a charming small-city backdrop with minimal elevation change. Known for enthusiastic cowbell-ringing spectators lining the route, this fall race combines a genuinely fast, USATF-certified course with a lively, community-driven atmosphere. MO’ Cowbell Marathon Additional Details:

True to its name, every marathon finisher at MO’ Cowbell receives their own collectible cowbell, and those celebrating a personal record get to ring the oversized “BIG PR cowbell” at the finish line, a tradition that turns the last few steps into a genuine celebration. Aid stations show up roughly every two and a half miles with water and Gatorade Endurance, plus Gu at two key points, and live music keeps energy up along the way. At the finish, runners are handed halved bananas, chocolate chip Chewy Bars, chips, chocolate milk, and a towel, alongside a proper post-race party with food vendors and more cowbells than you’d expect at a single event. Whether you set a PR or not, the ringing never really stops.
