Newport Rhode Races Marathon Description

The Newport Marathon is a Boston qualifying race starting and finishing at Easton’s Beach in Newport, Rhode Island. The loop course winds through Newport and Middletown, passing historic Gilded Age mansions, rolling coastal roads, and scenic ocean views throughout. Vibrant community support lines the course, and cool New England temperatures make race day comfortable for chasing goal times. A half marathon runs the same course, making this a picturesque coastal destination race in one of America’s most historic seaside towns.

Newport Rhode Races Marathon Additional Details:

One of the most memorable aid stations on the Newport course comes courtesy of Salve Regina University students, who turn out at mile 11.5 to cheer on runners passing through campus, adding genuine collegiate energy to an otherwise quiet stretch. The course places just four aid stations roughly every two miles, at Brenton Point, Goose Neck Cove, Spouting Rock, and the Salve Regina stop, keeping things simple rather than overloaded. Finishers receive a well-regarded medal at the end, a modest but appreciated keepsake for a race defined more by scenery and community support than elaborate swag. It’s a smaller-scale race where the volunteers and student cheer squad leave as much of an impression as the scenery along the way.
