Ogden Marathon Description

The Ogden Marathon starts high in the Wasatch Mountains near Eden, Utah, and drops through Ogden Canyon’s sheer rock walls and rushing river before finishing on Ogden’s Historic 25th Street. The fast, primarily downhill, Boston-qualifying course passes waterfalls, forests, and mountain valleys along the way, making it a favorite for both scenery and speed. Runner’s World has named it one of the top ten marathons in the world and one of the best courses for first-time marathoners. The event also offers a half marathon, 12K, 5K, and relay, all finishing downtown each May.

Always check the official race website for the most accurate and up-to-date race information and logistics.

Ogden Marathon Additional Details:

Aid comes early and often here, with gels available at roughly five stations along the way in addition to steady water and sports drink, more fueling support than many downhill courses bother to offer. Finishers walk away with a medal reviewers consistently call high quality, detailed enough that some note the design gets genuinely busy with branding. The real payoff waits at the base of the canyon: the Autoliv Finish Line Festival turns the finish area into a free community event, complete with live music, food trucks, vendor booths, and activities for kids, so runners and their families have a reason to stick around rather than head straight home. It’s a fitting celebration for a course regularly ranked among the country’s best for first-timers.
