Bootlegger 100 Description

The Bootlegger 100 takes runners through Dauset Trails near Flovilla, Georgia each March on a runnable 12.5-mile loop repeated eight times to complete the 100-mile distance. With modest climbing per loop and frequent aid access, it’s built to be approachable for first-time 100-mile finishers while still testing pacing discipline over a long day and night. The race is a Western States 100 qualifier, and its sponsorship ties to the WSER lottery have made it a popular stepping-stone race for runners chasing their first buckle.

Bootlegger 100 Additional Details:

Because the course repeats every 12.5 miles, runners can set up their own tent, food, and crew access at the start/finish aid station for every loop, with a second aid station at the halfway point of each lap. The loop format makes drop bags and crew logistics simple compared to a point-to-point ultra, but the course’s speed can work against unprepared runners: early laps that feel easy can lead to overconfidence and a rough back half. Georgia’s March weather typically runs mild to warm during the day, so heat management matters even on a course without major elevation. The 35-hour cutoff gives runners a full night and morning to complete all eight loops.
