Dinosaur Valley Endurance Run Description

The Dinosaur Valley Endurance Run takes place on a rolling, looped trail course through Dinosaur Valley State Park outside Glen Rose, Texas, with distances from 5 miles up to 100 miles. The 100-mile course covers nine laps of a 10.5-mile loop plus a final 5-mile stretch, climbing roughly 9,000 feet of rolling Texas hill country over packed dirt, rock, and slickrock, with sweeping overlooks along the way. Both the 100-mile and 100K distances serve as Western States qualifiers, drawing a supportive, back-of-the-pack-friendly field to this Hill Country classic each November.

Dinosaur Valley Endurance Run Additional Details:

The 100 Mile and 100K both start Saturday at 7:00 AM, with the 100K field also splitting off from 100-milers who record their 100K split at the six-loop mark. There is no fixed finish cutoff for these distances; instead, runners must clear a series of incremental last-loop cutoffs, and the finish line stays open, within reason, for anyone still moving. Racers under 60 in the 100K or 100 miler can pick up a pacer at mile 52.5, while those 60 and older may request one for the full race. Drop bags are allowed at the start/finish and at the Fence Line aid station, delivered out to mile 8 after the start. Average November conditions run a cool 40 to 69 degrees Fahrenheit, with sunrise around 7:08 AM and sunset by 5:27 PM.
