In a t-shirt quilt, the top layer is formed by your cherished t-shirt squares, which are then paired with a middle layer of batting to add warmth and weight. Finally, a soft backing material completes the quilt, ensuring both comfort and durability.

Absolutely! You can use the front, back, or both sides of a single shirt in your t-shirt quilt. Keep in mind that if a shirt has designs on both sides, each side will count as a separate square. Refer to the size guide above to determine how many shirts you’ll need for your desired quilt size.

You can use a variety of shirts in a t-shirt quilt, including:

• Cotton T-Shirts – The most common choice, perfect for a soft and durable quilt.
• Jerseys & Sports Shirts – Great for preserving team memories, but may require extra stabilization.
• Sweatshirts & Hoodies – Add warmth and thickness, though they may create a heavier quilt.
• Performance & Dri-Fit Shirts – These can be used but may need special backing for stability.
• Button-Up Shirts & Polo Shirts – Can be included, though the buttons and collars may need adjustments.
• Tank Tops & Sleeveless Shirts – Possible, but they may require extra fabric to fit standard quilt squares.

When possible, we will center your graphic. If you want an item cut differently, do not do it yourself, please specify how you would like an item cut.

Yes! We can incorporate various shirt sizes within the same quilt. If a shirt is too small, we’ll add fabric in a complementary color to ensure a uniform look.

Yes! We can design collage squares that feature multiple graphics from one or more shirts. As long as the designs fits within a standard square, we can arrange them together for a unique and cohesive look.

We offer two high-quality backing material options for your t-shirt quilt:

• 100% Flannel – Soft, cozy, and perfect for a warm, snuggly feel. Quilts made using flannel backing will have a raggedy edge finish.
• 100% Quilter’s Cotton – Durable, breathable, and lightweight for a classic quilt finish. Quilts made using cotton backing will seamless edge finish.

Both materials come in a variety of colors to complement your quilt design.

A raggedy edge quilt will use flannel backing. When the t-shirt squares are sewn together, the seams of each square are left exposed, facing upward. The seams are then hand-cut with scissors, allowing them to fray when washed, creating a soft, textured look with “raggedy” edges. There is no binding on a raggedy quilt so the outer edge of the quilt is hand-cut and as a raggedy edge.

A seamless edge quilt will use 100% quilting cotton backing. When the t-shirt squares are sewn together, the seams of each square will be folded down so that the seams are not seen, giving it a clean and modern look. There is a 100% quilting cotton fabric that is used for the binding. The binding is sewn onto the back of the quilt, folded around the edge, and sewn onto the front of the quilt.

A square is a 15 x 15-inch cut. It can consist of one large graphic, 2 rectangle-shaped graphics, or 4 smaller graphics.

Yes! We offer custom embroidery for an additional $15 per design. Add names, dates, quotes, or special messages to make your quilt even more personal. Let us know your embroidery details when placing your order!
