Spend Memorial Day weekend in the beautiful Southern Black Hills, participating in Hot Springs’ Salute to Valor weekend, complete with Wine Walk, picnic, veteran memorials, music and trivia. The weekend culminates in a unique STAIR CLIMBING race on Monday, Memorial Day. Our Knee High Hilly Half Marathon is chock full of hills, vales and breathtaking views—even a secret, private staircase—but it is not for the faint of heart. With 744 steps and several big hills, you must be in shape for this event. You MUST BE 12 YEARS OR OLDER to participate in this route. It is NOT walker friendly. Bring the whole gang, because we also have 2 mile and 5K options, all involving outdoor staircases. There is also a kid zone, and The Mammoth Site will set up their Science Zone and mini-golf. Stars, Stripes & Steps is a fundraiser, supporting our local Boys & Girls Club. The Club kids design and produce our finish medals and place awards—every one individual and unique!
